Christmas-TreeWhat could be easier or more convenient than having a beautiful, freshly cut 6-8 ft Fraser Fir Christmas tree delivered free and setup in your home Dec 4-10? What about also helping those in need at the same time?

APD Officer Ryan Jones is coordinating and the trees are $79. Credit cards or checks can be paid during setup of the tree, just fill out the form here or send the requested info peacechristmastrees@gmail.com. Ryan Jones is an APD officer whose team works with Operation P.E.A.C.E. in the Bedford Housing Community and are dedicated to helping them and their families as they work hard for a brighter future. A free tree will be donated to these families for each of the first 60 trees ordered!

NPU-M Special Session of the Education Committee – Intown Academy Status

APS-300x147In the November 4th issue of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, it was reported that the Atlanta APS Public School Board voted unanimously to not renew the Intown Academy’s contract for the 2015/2016 school year. Hope Hill Elementary may not be a viable alternative due to current enrollment, physical space and educational resources.

Dean Leeper, Executive Director of the Kindezi Schools, made a presentation the NPU M Executive Committee on Monday November 10, 2014. As of November 10, 2014 the Kindezi School is the only applicant.
At this meeting it was decided that a special Education Committee meeting is needed to provide a recommendation to the NPU M General Body Membership at the November meeting.

The committee will make a recommendation to the General Membership Meeting on November 24, 2014. Without a replacement, the school may face closure.

Your input is needed. The discussion is scheduled for November 20, 6:30pm, Helene Mills Center515 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30312 .
