The Game filming at iwi fresh, Oct 24th

Breakdown Productions Inc, will be in the neighborhood filming at iwi fresh on Oct 24 from 10am-11pm. There will be a partial lane closure on the north curb on Nelson St NW between Walker St NW and Mangum St NW; as well as parking lane closures on the east curb on Centennial Olympic Park Dr. between Nelson St. SW and Chapel St SW.

During the filming, APD will assist with intermittent traffic control to ensure safety and the ability to get you where you need to go. Most filming will occur inside iwi fresh resulting in few intermittent traffic controls.

Castleberry Hill Pumpkin Carving and Halloween Parade- Oct 25th

pumpkinimageJoin us down in Castleberry Hill for our Annual Halloween Parade. We’ll be traveling through the neighborhood visiting all your favorite haunts; Walker Street Storage, Iwi Fresh, Krucial Kuts, Smoke Ring, Elliot Street Pub, No Mas Cantina, and tons of residences as well!

SO bring the kids (two-legged or four) and get your costumes ready!
We will start off with pumpkin carving at Bottle Rocket ATL at 3 pm, then travel through the neighborhood to Elliott Street, and then come back up to No Mas for a Halloween Happy Hour!
The event is not limited to Castleberry residents so please feel free to invite your friends and their families as well!

“The Nice Guys” Filming on Peters Street- Oct 27th

film imageMisty Mountains Productions, LLC will be filming scenes for the movie “The Nice Guys” at the Peters Street Bridge on October 27, 2014. On October 27, from midnight to 10pm the following lane and sidewalk closures will occur:

** Lane Closure on the East and West-bound curb lanes of Peters Street between Fair Street and Spring Street

** Northern Sidewalk Closure of Peters Street between Fair Street and Spring Street

Peters Street will be fully closed to traffic between 10am-2pm on October 27th. Lane and road closures will be marked with Emergency No Parking signs prior to filming and maintained by off-duty police officers. All work on Peters Street has been permitted through GDOT, and the sidewalk closure through the City of Atlanta.  Pedestrians will have access to businesses and residences throughout the day- foot traffic will be held only while cameras are rolling.

It’s time for the 13th Annual Castleberry Hill Chili Cook-off,  a yearly fundraiser held to benefit the City of Atlanta Fire Department’s Station No.1 (best fire station in the city)!

Entry is $35 to compete in the contest, $10 to sample chili, and $15 for chili samples and some freebie beer til the kegs run dry! 100% of proceeds go directly to the the hardest working firefighters in the city! Judging will be done by firemen from Station No. 1, some of Atlanta’s best chefs, and by you the people! It’s also home of the 5th Annual Elliott Street and Boar’s Head Hot Dog Eating contest where you can gorge yourself to fortune and glory!
