Old Growth
a solo exhibition by Cianna Valley
April 10 – April 26
Opening Reception Friday, April 10th, 7pm-11pm
with Sounds by DJ Cousin Dan

Cianna Valley is a mixed media artist from Maui, Hawaii. She earned her BFA in printmaking from California College of the Arts and currently live/works in Oakland, California. Her work has been shown throughout the US and resides in several public and private collections.

“My work is based off the idea that whenever you revisit a moment from the past, your mindset at the time has a permanent effect on that memory. I like the idea that thoughts can be revisited and re-imagined to such an extent that they become fictitious images built out of elements of several realities. Childhood memories can be viewed through an adult lens of understanding while people and places of the past and present overlap. Through print, sculpture and mixed media installation I aim to create a visual record of here, now, then and there as they blend, transform and fade into one another.”
