APD`s Clean Car Campaign Update

On behalf of APD, Major Williams of Zone 5 is soliciting your assistance with crime reduction by participating in the "Clean Car" campaign. It`s simple: Remove all viewable valuables from your vehicle before you leave! You will reduce the odds of your vehicle break-in by nearly 95%! Remind your co-workers, clients, residents, family, and friends to remove ALL items APD once had a vehicle`s window busted as a result of fifteen cents left on the console`s coin area! For an interesting website visit APD`s interactive Crime Map.

For the most current reporting period, Zone 5 reports that during 2009, we recorded 50 larceny from auto incidents, down 12% for the same period for 2008. Major Williams has proclaimed a 10% decrease, for our overall goal (Part I crimes), for the 2009 year.

Visit the Public Safety page of the CHNA website for more information on the "Clean Car" Campaign, an Auto Theft Prevention flyer to place in your building and to sign up for the Neighborhood Text Alert system TODAY! LET`S BE PROACTIVE!!!
