Street Closures & Downtown Connector Paving

In case you were not aware, the 14th Street Bridge has been closed through May 2010 between Fowler and Williams Streets. Bridge improvements include two new exit ramps from the connector southbound to 10th Street and northbound to 17th Street to relieve congestion on existing ramps.
The Downtown Repaving this weekend will be Friday, May 30th @ 9pm through Monday, June 2nd @ 5am and will consist of
Southbound:
- Four inside (left) lanes will be closed between 17th Street and I-20
- Two inside (left) lanes will be closed between I-20 and University Avenue
Northbound:
- Three inside (left) lanes will be closed between University Avenue and I-20
- Four inside (left) lanes will be closed between I-20 and 17th Street
Please prepare for trips and avoid the highway if possible. Most notably, warn people passing through the City or coming to/leaving Castleberry Hill to avoid the highway and provide them with alternate routes. I-285 is given as a solution, GA-13 and others are also good connectors to the City with limited weekend traffic.
