M.C. Escher Exhibit @ Skot Foreman Gallery

September 4 – October 31, 2003 SKOT FOREMAN FINE ART hosts a one man exhibition featuring the work of legendary artist M.C. Escher.

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) was a Dutch graphic artist best known for his fantastic designs based on mathematical premises creating optical illusions.

He exploited the ambiguity between figure and foreground, flat pattern and three dimensional recession.

Escher's designs were often executed with a surrealist flair, taking irrational looking subjects and putting them into rational, mathematical patterns. His compositions vibrate, as the foreground and background seem to trade places at the blink of an eye.

Escher’s original drawings, prints, watercolors will be on display at Skot Foreman Fine Art located at 315 Peters St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30313. Opening reception Thursday, September 4 from 6-10 PM for more information 404.222.0440 or email: info@skotforeman.com visit us on the web: www.skotforeman.com.
