Isabel blows art fan, musician into town
By Richard L. Eldredge

Hurricane Isabel blew in a few benefits for Atlanta this week.
Legendary singers-songwriters Crosby, Stills and Nash came into Atlanta
early to tour the arts scene in our Isabel-free city after a gig in North
Carolina was canceled due to the weather front.
On Thursday, Graham Nash, an ardent M.C. Escher collector, popped into
Skot Foreman Fine Art to take in the current exhibit. "It was such
a pleasant surprise," Foreman told Buzz. "He just stuck his
head in the door and asked, 'Are you open?' He's such a well-read, intellectual
guy. He told me he got turned onto Escher in the 1960s while he was still
with the Hollies. He has an important and deep Escher collection."
So how exactly did Nash find out about the exhibition located in the hip
Castleberry Hill neighborhood that's off the beaten World of Coca-Cola
path?
"He whipped out an article from last week's accessAtlanta,"
Foreman said. "They just blew into town Wednesday, so I don't know
how he came upon it. He told me, 'I do my homework.' "
On Wednesday, Nash, joined by David Crosby and Stephen Stills, took in
the "Ansel Adams and His Legacy" and "A Matter of Time:
Paintings by Edward Hopper" exhibits at the High Museum of Art.
"Let's say that the three of them traveling together made them instantly
recognizable," the High's Lauren Shankman said.
Barring an electrical storm, the trio will perform tonight at Chastain.
Well, at least until 11:59 p.m. and 59 seconds, at which time due to the
much-debated Chastain curfew, Crosby, Stills and Nash will instantly become
unplugged.
