Subject: Zone 5 news story:

Good evening, beginning tonight (Thursday, November 20th), at 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., on Fox 5, the leading story will include Zone 5`s arrests of several subjects that were caught breaking in to cars. This lead to an investigation where stolen laptops were sold at 82 Peachtree, illegally. The story concludes with approximately 50 laptops found in the store, five arrests, and the closing of the store. The investigation was assisted by Fulton County DA`s Office, Lo-Jack, Nationwide, APD`s Special Enforcement Section, Zone 2, and our Zone 5 personnel. As a result, we have experienced a sharp decrease (incidents) in the larceny from auto category, during recent weeks.

On behalf of the men and women of Zone 5 and our citizens I am grateful for the above listed entities and their efforts,

Major Khirus E. Williams
Zone 5 commander

The Contemporary

The Contemporary`s studio program supports the practicing, professional artist by providing studio space at reasonable rates.  With multiple studios available, the program fosters a collaborative environment supportive of the creative process.

Atlanta Contemporary Art Center offers subsidized studio spaces for artists to rent. Spaces vary in size. Some are equipped with dark rooms. All studios have heating and air conditioning.

Criteria for selection include, among others, consistency with the institutional focus on contemporary art, history of community involvement, need and your level of activity as a working artist.

We are extending an invitation to artists interested in studio space to apply for the 2008 studio vacancies. Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are invited to apply for studios; selection is made by the panel of current Contemporary board members, studio artists, staff and representatives from the Atlanta community.
